As the creators of the two internationally accepted Data Center Site Infrastructure Tier Standards (Topology and Operational Sustainability), Uptime Institute Professional Services is uniquely qualified to deliver Certifications and data center assessments across all industries and worldwide.

The Technical Consultant is responsible for working with data center owners, operators, engineers, and client senior management in order to provide unparalleled mission critical environment consulting related to facility infrastructure. Duties include conducting reviews of data center designs, documentation, or built environments to determine compliance with owner’s stated Tier functionality objectives and long-term operations goals in accordance with Tier Standard: Topology. Conduct on-site reviews of data center facility management processes and procedures against the Tier Standard: Operational Sustainability requirements. Develop narrative- based reports, memos, or other deliverables that, in a clear, concise, and accurate fashion, document both shortcomings and solutions to achieving owner’s expected outcomes. Meet with data center teams, as required, to discuss findings and recommendations regarding all critical subsystems and their operation. Develop Tier Standard-based requirements documents for new data center facilities or major upgrades. Evaluate the following data center subsystems:

In order to be successful in this position, Uptime Institute Professional Services is looking for candidates with the following credentials and experience:

Required

  • 5 – 10 years of experience managing and operating a data center’s facility infrastructure with specific experience in the processes delineated above
  • A desire for domestic and international travel
  • A motivation to learn detailed aspects of data center operations in order to advance in the company
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree

Desired

Title: Technical Editor

Report to: Senior Director, Technical Communications
Location: Remote: NM/OK/TX/CO

The Technical Editor is accountable for effective communications, document management and controls, design and format, and editorial integrity of client reports and deliverables. This individual is responsible for professional editorial support that complies with corporate editorial standards; effective use of procedures, tools, and templates; and accurate, timely communications regarding document status and formal reviews. The Technical Editor performs as part of a team and works collaboratively to produce large volumes of work with consistent quality.

This individual assists with the development and maintenance of client reports, education curriculum, technical publications, internal training materials, and other documentation. With responsibility across multiple concurrent projects, this position is characterized by shifting priorities, stringent deadlines, and potential last-minute requirements. The Technical Editor works closely with key stakeholders to apply the principles of minimalist writing, task-based writing, and content reuse strategies to deliver compelling and clear documentation. The Technical Editor also works with key leaders in the organization and members of other departments to ensure the quality of all technical communication.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and format all internal and external technical communications to Uptime Institute quality standards for grammar, content flow, clarity, voice, consistency, corporate style, and accuracy.
  • Information design for technical reports, publications, and other content.
  • Closely collaborate with project management, consultants, and subject matter experts and other teams.
  • Maintain related repositories such as recent, relevant, reuse material and boilerplate.
  • Strong commitment to corporate quality standards.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of technical editing experience, including layout and design.
  • Excellent writing, editing, grammar, and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce concise, compelling documentation.
  • Well versed in modern and effective document design, desktop publishing, and professional report production.
  • Ability to develop non-technical memorandums, executive summaries, guidelines, or notices, and source or create supporting graphics based on the key points captured in technical documents.
  • Ability to organize complex documentation or simple copy edits, depending on the stage of the documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail as well as the ability to understand broader concepts and strategies.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work as a self-starter with minimal supervision in a fast-paced and collaborative work environment.
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to track items to completion, with strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to learn new technical subject matter quickly.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing responsibilities, situations, and requirements.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate well with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, and clients and support effective working relationships.
  • Ability to maintain library of documentation and version control of all work in progress.

Preferences that will differentiate candidates:

  • Two or more years of technical communication experience specifically in the data center engineering or operations industry. The experience must include editing documentation and other materials for technical and non-technical audiences.

As our Senior Digital Campaign Manager, you’ll design and manage campaigns that will identify prospects that are most closely matched with the core services, based value propositions. You’ll set the campaign strategy, outlining the goals, manage the budget and architecting the content and messaging required at all steps of the prospect’s journey.

The Role Description:

  • An expert in the use of Martech (including Salesforce, Marketo, Octopost, SEO/analytics, etc.) to execute campaigns globally.
  • Manage and optimize use of internal resources, third party services providers and platforms
  • Collaborate and prioritize campaign efforts to align with regional sales lead, Operations, and company strategy.
  • Establish campaign KPIs, and report on campaign effectiveness with an eye on continuous improvement .
  • Build data strategy that allows precise segmentation and targeting.

Summary of Key Responsibilities and Expectations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creation and management of lead-generation campaigns for each of our product lines, based on actionable and specific value-based offers.
  • Contribute to overall marketing plan including key activities and budgets to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers.
  • Collaborate with product management and marketing communications to develop product positioning and messaging that resonates with our target buyer personas.
  • Set and track campaigns objectives and measure return on investment of marketing program
  • Building a more expansive program of client and prospect engagement across various digital channels.
  • Understand how to look at observed behavior and guide prospects into deeper engagement tracks.
  • Understand and document our buyer’s process, including which channels they get information, from, what influences their decision they make. Then drive changes to our sales and marketing tools and processes based on what you learn.
  • Understand and support our sales channels, using their revenue goals as the basis for campaign creation.
  • Work with international regional commercial leads to understand campaign effectiveness and make regional adjustments.
  • Manage our automated engagement engine to assure it is part of our identification/nurturing strategy (currently DRIFT is in place).

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of Digital product marketing experience. (Understanding of the infrastructure market desirable).
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office to create and present our content in various formats and customer assets.
  • Comfortable using, managing and developing the use of SalesForce, Marketo, Octopost
  • Good working knowledge of web optimization strategies across SEO and SEM.
  • Experience with other tools such as DRIFT and HubSpot a plus.
  • Power corporate user of automated engagement tools, ideally DRIFT or equivalent.
  • ROI-tracking skills, able to establish what is –or isn’t—working and make incremental improvements.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing preferred.

  • Experience in testing and scaling activities at the campaign level, while also mapping results to individual accounts.

  • Experience planning and executing multiple, multichannel marketing programs.

We publish regular, independent, and authoritative reports on all aspects of digital infrastructure for our members and thousands of readers around the world.

Our research areas cover risk and resiliency, operations, technological innovation, economics, sustainability, and market dynamics.
