Network Cable Installer (NCI) Apprenticeship
Teaching Tomorrow’s Technology Through Trusted Apprenticeships Across England
CNet Training, an Uptime Education Company, is an Apprenticeship Main Provider approved to fully deliver Apprenticeships by the Department for Education (DfE). This accolade requires CNet to adhere to strict education standards and undergo regular inspections, meaning both employers and apprentices can have full confidence when choosing CNet to deliver their Apprenticeship program.
CNet delivers the Network Cable Installer (NCI®) Apprenticeship, a 12–15-month level 3 program creating the next generation of competent, confident, and qualified network cable installation professionals.
Since launching the Network Cable Installer (NCI) Apprenticeship in 2019, CNet has delivered much of the off-the-job training required as part of the Apprenticeship. Now operating as a Main Provider of Apprenticeships allows CNet to take full responsibility for the end-to-end management and delivery of the Apprenticeship.
The Apprenticeship was designed in close collaboration with major companies from the network cabling sector. It recognizes network cable installation as a role and provides industry-approved certification and qualification which standardizes technical education for network cable installers.
The Apprenticeship program is a strong solution for individuals wishing to acquire the knowledge to enable them to complete both copper and fiber cable installation projects and demonstrates the highest levels of skills and expertise in network cabling infrastructures. The NCI® Apprenticeship is deemed to be an ‘Apprenticeship in a Box’, purely because all the planning has already been completed in readiness for both employers and employees to follow. This includes a detailed timetable of professional development activity to enhance knowledge and skills and become professionally qualified and certified, it therefore alleviates the need for the employer to dedicate valuable time and effort in this essential planning stage and allows the apprentice to begin right away.
CNet is trusted throughout the global digital infrastructure industry to deliver high quality education programs. Many of CNet certifications are listed as preferred and included in job specifications worldwide.
Our active involvement in the design and delivery of network cable infrastructure technical education programs which led to Pearson BTEC qualifications and official certifications, since 1996.
Current plans include the expansion of the Apprenticeship portfolio into new regions in the near future.
